Norwegian Troll and landscape -Print
Norwegian Landscape and troll art print (A4) high quality 250 gsm FSC® paper. Welcome to the mountains artwork.
About the Artwork & Process:
This artwork is inspired by traditional Norwegian folklore and landscape painters like Theodor Kittelsen, Hans Gude and Johan Christian Dahl. This illustration is entirely hand-drawn from scratch in Procreate on iPad Pro, with every stroke placed individually. The time required to complete a piece varies, and some of my artworks contain tens of thousands of strokes, taking several days to finish.
The landscapes in Norway are truly amazing. This illustration draws inspiration from traditional Norwegian and Scandinavian folklore, portraying the mysterious and awe-inspiring trolls said to roam the forests. Here sits a lonely troll, in the foggy landscape between the pines. In the distance a cold waterfall can be heard.
Scandinavian folklore is rich with tales of trolls, monstrous beings that dwell in deep forests, mountains, and caves. These creatures are often depicted as large, slow-witted, and dangerous, though some stories describe smaller, more mischievous versions. Trolls are said to turn to stone when exposed to sunlight, explaining the many peculiar rock formations in Nordic landscapes. In Norse mythology and later folklore, they symbolize the wild, untamed forces of nature, often clashing with humans who venture too far into their domain.
Before printing, my artwork is carefully color-corrected in Adobe Photoshop to ensure the best possible quality. However, please note that colors may vary slightly between what you see on your screen and the final print due to differences in display settings, lighting conditions, and print runs.
Prints & Paper:
All sales are currently contributing toward my investment in a professional printer. Until then, I work with a highly trusted print shop in Oslo that I have used for years. Each print is produced on premium matte offset paper (250 gsm), certified by FSC®, ECF, and the European Ecolabel (EU Flower)—ensuring a wood-free and environmentally friendly production process.
All prints follow the international ISO 216 A4 standard (210mm x 297mm / 8.3" x 11.7"). To simplify shipping and accessibility, prints are sold unframed. However, A4 is a widely available size, making it easy to find a suitable frame.
